Apply for a bespoke permit for a radioactive substances site

Find details of the proposed charges on our consultation hub on the Citizen Space website.

This consultation has now closed. NRW will use the feedback from the public consultation to inform our new charging schemes, which we intend to implement from 1 April 2023, subject to Ministerial approval.

Before you apply

You will need to apply for a bespoke permit if you fall within Schedule 23 of the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 as described on the Radioactive substances page. The link ‘Does your activity require an EPR radioactive substance permit’ provides details of the different types of radioactive substance activities that may require a permit.

How to apply

On this page you’ll find application forms for a new bespoke permit and the guidance notes to complete the application forms. You must fill in part A and F and complete the appropriate part B sections.

Please note

You will need Adobe Version 7 or later to be able to use the electronic forms.

Once you have selected the right parts of the form you only need to fill in the sections of that form which are relevant to your application. However, you will need to go to each section and tick the appropriate boxes which will allow you to move on to the next section.
