Purpose

The National Access Forum for Wales' (NAFW) primary purposes are to help Natural Resources Wales and the Welsh Government to:

  • improve the quality and extent of access to the countryside and coasts of Wales
  • extend the opportunities for enjoyment and responsible outdoor recreation to all

Membership

In pursuing this goal, the NAFW recognises the close inter-relationship that exists between access management and the overall environmental, economic, social and cultural well being of our rural communities.

The NAFW has nearly 40 member organisations representing a wide range of interests which includes:

  • representatives of landowners and managers
  • countryside access user groups
  • public bodies and
  • voluntary sector organisations

Though it has no legal status, the level and range of representation of its members means it can influence policy development.
