New online public register now live

Our new online public register is now live - making it easier for customers to access information about permit and licence applications. In this blog, Stephen Attwood, our Regulatory Innovation team leader talks about how the team built this new development, and the benefit we hope it will bring to our customers.

“We issue permits, licences and exemptions for industry, business and individuals to carry out certain activities that have the potential to pollute or harm the environment.

“We want to be transparent in our decision making and make it as easy as possible for customers to view applications and permit information. Our updated public register is a big step in improving how we work with our customers by making more information available online.

“You can search for and download public register documents relating to waste, water quality and installation environmental permits, and water resources licences. Marine licence documents will also be available soon.

“Customers can now access permit and licence documents, relating to sites in Wales, without needing to make a request. You can also search by postcode or name of town - something we know our many of our customers wanted to do.

“Initially, only public register documents received from customers, or created by us, from 1 September 2018 will be available. We will listen to your feedback and work to make improvements. We will also look to make more information on other regimes available, in the future.

“You can still contact us  to access public register documents from before 1 September 2018.
